Cleaning Up the Portfolio’s Bullpen

Given the market pullback that has unfolded, we are making a few changes to the Portfolio’s Bullpen. As a reminder, the Bullpen is where we continue to vet candidates for the Portfolio and just because a company lands in the Bullpen does not mean it will eventually be called up to the Portfolio.

With that out of the way, we are adding Dell Technologies ($DELL) and bringing back the VanEck Uranium and Nuclear ETF ($NLR). We are also formally adding SpaceX ($SPCX) to the Bullpen.

As we make these moves, we will remove Labcorp ($LH) given our existing position in the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF ($XLV). We like that broad-based exposure and will look to build out that position size over time.

Following the September CPI and PPI reports and the prospect for incrementally higher interest rates as well as consumer affordability, we are also removing Builders FirstSource ($BLDR) from the Bullpen. Perhaps in a few quarters, we’ll revisit a homebuilder play or even BLDR shares, but for now, it’s adios.

Meanwhile, the rebound in cocoa prices and the risk they remain elevated into 2027, which would make for a challenging start to the year, leads us to remove Hershey ($HSY) shares from the Bullpen.

And while it was a very smart move to avoid bringing shares of Starfighters Space ($FJET) into the Portfolio, it is more than past time to remove them from the Bullpen. Perhaps Sarge and the Stocks Under $10 Portfolio will keep an eye on them.
