Chart of the Day: Welltower’s Technicals Tower Over the Competition

In this day and age when all we think about (and hear about) is AI, it might surprise you that one of the best performers in the stock market has nothing to do with that burgeoning technology. Of course, there are quite a few companies that are performing well without the AI push, but check out Welltower ($WELL), a company that caters to seniors and wellness housing. The company has a group of more than 2,500 properties that has been expanding quickly. Properties are located in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom.

Welltower has sported double-digit revenue growth the past four years, double-digit earnings for the past three and is looking to do the same in both categories for 2027. While these numbers are not what you see with semiconductor, memory or AI, this is a very steady business with reliable cash flows that seems to be doing well even if inflation is high.

The chart is a thing of beauty, with higher-highs and higher-lows, as seen at the top. Of course, the blue candles tell us this stock is strongly bullish. In the second pane, you can see that the moving average convergence divergence is solid. In the second-to-bottom pane, you will also see that money flow just flipped for a buy signal recently. But the Relative Strength and Stochastics are just burning up the market, and new highs are great but often worrisome, as investors will take profits. So we are paying close attention. For now, solid upside move.

We like Welltower in TheStreet Pro Portfolio and rate it a Two, or “stockpile on pullbacks.”

At the time of publication, TheStreet Pro was long WELL.
